Our firm was lead counsel for the plaintiffs in Lozman v. Archipelago, et al., the case seeking to obtain ownership rights, via a constructive trust, to the nation's first totally open all-electronic stock exchange, The Archipelago Exchange, trading 100% of listed and OTC stocks. We alleged that our clients' business opportunities were usurped and improperly acquired. The Archipelago Exchange merged in 2005 with the New York Stock Exchange. Pending.

We represented the plaintiff—a 25% shareholder in two car dealerships—in a shareholder's oppression suit against the principal owner and the dealerships in the case of Schuman v. Arrow Chevrolet, Inc., Case no. 97 CH 15389, Circuit Court of Cook County, and Arrow Chevrolet, Inc. v. Riley, Case no. 84907, Supreme Court of Illinois (1997-1998).  The case involved emergency TRO proceedings, an emergency appeal to the Illinois Appellate Court, which appeal resulted in the entry of a TRO in favor of my client, and a two-day evidentiary hearing on the motion for a preliminary injunction. The trial judge entered the preliminary injunction for our client. After all of those proceedings, the case settled for what amounted to a six-figure settlement.

We represented the plaintiff real estate partnership against one of its partners in the case of Stetson Street Land Partners v. Delaney, Case No. 05 CH 15396 (2006). The case alleged that the partner diverted business opportunities of the partnership relating to the development of a downtown Chicago property into a hotel. After the plaintiff prevailed at an evidentiary hearing on a preliminary injunction, the case was settled.
